Ross Arnett has served on the Annapolis City Council for seven years now. He has served on and chaired many of the Council committees and is particularly noted for his expertise on the City budget. Ross has a long record of community involvement and civic participation wherever he has lived. As an Annapolis resident, he has served on and been President of the Eastport Civic Association Board, and has been a member of the Eastport Business Association and the Maritime Republic of Eastport.
A professional economist, Ross retired as a senior executive after 32 years of service with the federal government, mostly with the Department of Health and Human Services. He continues to manage a small health economics consulting business.
Ross and Kathy Arnett – his wife of 45 years – have lived in Eastport for the last twelve years. Ross and Kathy met while attending the University of Maryland, College Park. They have a son, Ross IV, who is also a graduate of the University of Maryland and now works as a congressional legislative staffer.
In his spare time, Ross enjoys racing and cruising sailboats, playing golf and tennis, and patronizing the many local restaurants, arts and maritime resources that make Annapolis unique. Ross appreciates the special qualities that make Eastport one of the most livable neighborhoods in Annapolis, and he is committed to working hard to make sure Eastport stays that way.
